Challenges In Acquiring English Languange

Hello guys!! So this is my second entry. Lets begin with the name of Allah.

When i reminiscing the old days, I still remembered an incident that had happened when I was still a child. Maybe I was around 10 years old ( I'm not really sure) at that time. Even though it already happened long time ago, but it still vivid in my mind. I once had a new friend that just moved to our school at that time. She spoke English fluently. All of my teachers were amazed with her ability to speak English and often became the apple of teacher's eyes. But me and all my friends was really annoyed and envy with that girl. What a shameful action I had did! Hahahaha. Such a childish person I was.

But now I realize that English is everything in our life. By hook or by crook we must learn how to speak English fluently. Actually,I really love to watch English movies. A movie's ghost sometimes.Well,I'm sure it was quiet upsetting when you watch a movie without a subtitle. Of course not only me but also you, do not want to slip over the important things they say in that movies. So I need to acquire English to become a good speaker and also a good listener of English Language.

Honestly, there was so many challenges that I had faced in order to acquiring English at first. But I need to push my limit to learn English because profession as a doctor will deal with a lot of peoples. I can't expecting all of them will speak in my mother tongue language. Of course there will be so many challenges that I had faced in acquiring English Language.

1.CONFIDENCE.
I never had them in myself before. I need to admit I am girl who really have low self esteem before. I'm afraid if I will make mistakes and people will laugh at me. I'm sure many of us had this problems right?
2.PEOPLE'S PERCEPTION
Then, I also had faced our people's lame perception. They always tend to think that people who speak in English just want to show off and such a snob person. (So do I before, that's my mistake) hahaha. We need to get rid of that perception by now.

3.LACKING OF BOOKS
I have to admit that there was so not so many choices when it comes to borrow English books in my library. So I need to buy it by myself if I want to read a particular book. Honestly,it had cost quite a lot of money. But people always said that 'Money is the ticket to getaway of knowledge'.

4.DIFFERENT PRONUNCIATION
For example in movies, there is a lot of slang and colloquial language that is used. So i had practiced myself to watch many television programs and also listened to radio stations in which English is used.

5.GRAMMAR
I'm pretty sure that most of us had this problem.Given a examination papers that full of red ink on it is a sign that there is many grammar error in our writing and for sure is such a nightmare.Because of that, most of us is afraid to speak in English in and also writing essay in English.

6.RARELY USE IN DAILY CONVERSATION
This one also a big problem to me before. Of course it is because we usually talk with our friends in our mother tongue language which is Malay. Realizing that it was a big problem to me, I started to practice to use English in my daily conversations. Practice makes perfect, right?

7.NOT HAVING PARTNER TO PRACTICE SPEAKING SKILLS
At first,I always practiced to speak in front of mirror. Until sometimes my mom quiet curious with whom I talked with. Hahaha. And I realized that I need to find a partner to help me improving my speaking skills and also correcting my errors.

8.DIFFICULTY IN UNDERSTANDING NEW WORDS
When reading English books such as Shakespeare, I often puzzled about the meaning of particular words. So I taking an action by listed down the new words that I found in the books that I had read to make it as my reference in other days.

9.HESITATE TO SPEAK
Just be confident. everyone of us has the right to speak out their mind loud. Never afraid to break the grammatical rules. It is one of learning process, right?

10.EDUCATION SYSTEM
It was undeniable that our education system is quite poor. For example, for secondary school the system had been changed again from English to Malay when it comes to learn about Science stream. It can confuse our students actually and also lessen the chances for them to acquire English Language.

So that's all for now. I hope people out there that have the desire to learn English, just go with it until your limit. Don't ever stop until you grab it. Never give up and keep it up guys!

The new me

So here I am guys! The same person but obviously with new surrounding, new friends, and of course with new daily routine. All my life already turned completely different since the first day I enter the university. I need to become a person with new high spirit in order to adapt with new university's life. It was quite hectic for me at first but eventually I managed to adapt with it. What I imagined was totally not what I faced right now. But this is what I want in my life, which is to be a doctor one day. The journey to become a doctor is not full with bed of roses but there is always thorns along it. In order to success, I need to become a new person that always try harder and also need to be mentally and physically strong to achieve my goal.

When I was young, I was always wondering why everybody that pass their examination with flying colours will tend to take medical course and want to become a doctor. Is there no other job rather than doctor that can suit with excellent students? It was unfair. Honestly, at first I was quite annoyed with our people's mentality about sending their children that get good grades during secondary school to further study in medical course. I just think that why other professions can't get 'special place' like doctor in our people's heart. I was once want to be an engineer before but what God had planned for me is better than what I want.
"Sometimes what we think is good for us,might be not good. But what we think bad for us is also not surely will be bad.-Mufti Menk"

We will never know how our future are, what we will go through in our life and who will be beside us along our journey. So at last, I am here. Furthering my study in medical course(that I used to get annoyed before but surely not now) and will be your doctor 6 years from now. Of course there is a turning point that already changed my ambition to become a doctor. I finally changed my mind because I always saw many people that close to me throughout my life had faced different kinds of disease. I was a little bit frustrated and sad when I can't do any beneficial things to help them rather than seeing them struggling to fight with their diseases. It was totally heart wrenching to me. From that day onward, I started to change my mind to become a useful person not only to people around me but also to other people out there that need my help. Because I always thinks that while I live in imperfection,it feels like it's my duty to at least make the people around me happy and spread the positive vibes among the people.

Before I made decision to further study in medical course, I was always exposed with 'cliche' story about how busy and foggy days a doctor's life is. When doing the housemanship, medical students always well known as 'the walking zombie'. How comes they not being called like that when sometimes they need to work not less than 24 hours in a day. Because of that, I always think that am I strong enough to become a doctor? It was undeniable that my heart pounding fast and of course quite afraid to make decision whether to accept or to reject the offer to study medical because of that perception. But at last I decided to accept the offer. Starting from the day i'd accepted it, I already promised to myself to become a new me. Who always be prepared in whatever situation is and also willing to sacrifice my time and my energy to save others people's lives.

"I can't change the world but maybe I can help someone for not losing hopes to stare at the same sky"
